THE MAIN BODIES OF THE EU
The structure of the European Union changed dramatically as a result of the Treaty of Lisbon. Until 2009 it rested on three “pillars”: the three European Communities, the cooperation of all EU countries within the framework of a common foreign and security policy (CFSP) and their cooperation in justice and home affairs. The Lisbon Treaty dissolved this pillar structure in favor of seven central organs.

The most important organs of the EU include the Council of the European Union (Council of Ministers), the European Commission (EU Commission), the European Parliament, the European Court of Justice and the European Council

Other EU organs are the European Court of Auditors and the European Central Bank.

The majority of European languages belong to the Indo-European language tribe and use the Latin characters. The area of origin of this large language family is probably the area between Central Europe and the Urals. Whether the bearers can be assigned to a uniform Indo-European “primitive people” is highly controversial. The main language branches in Europe are the Germanic, Romance and Slavic languages. Turkish, Hungarian, Finnish and Estonian are not related to the Indo-European language family. For more information about the continent of Europe, please check franciscogardening.com.
