Visa to Colombia
Citizens of Russia do not need a visa to enter Colombia if the period of stay in the country does not exceed 90 days, which is quite enough for a leisurely acquaintance with the amazing natural and cultural heritage of the country. If the Colombian exotic does not want to let you go, you must first apply for a long-term visa at the Colombian Embassy in Moscow. The package of documents does not stand out for anything special, the only important point is that the passport must have 3 blank pages, and photocopies of the internal passport must be translated into English. Among other things, return tickets should be bought in Russia – those bought on the spot are subject to a 15 percent tax.

Entry into the country
When crossing the border, you must present a passport, the validity of which must be at least 3 months at the time of entry into the country, a return ticket and proof of sufficient funds for the entire duration of the trip. In some cases, they may also require confirmation of the hotel reservation.
Do not forget to take out medical insurance for the entire duration of the trip. Although the policy is not asked when entering the country, it is at least unreasonable to travel without it.
Documents for a visa to Colombia
Required documents for obtaining a visa if the period of stay in Colombia exceeds 90 days:
- international passport
Valid for at least 3 months at the time of submission of documents, with at least 3 blank pages;
- Photo
photographs 3×3 cm without corners and oval.
- Copy of international passport
2 copies of the first page;
- Copy of internal passport
Photocopies of all completed pages of the internal passport in 2 copies and translation of these pages (notarization is not required);
- Financial guarantees
Confirmation of the availability of sufficient funds;
- Hotel reservation
Copy of hotel reservation or invitation;
- Ticket reservation
A photocopy of the ticket;
- Questionnaire
Questionnaire in 2 copies, personally signed by the applicant;

The term for issuing a visa by the embassy is from 3 to 10 working days. Consular fee for citizens of Russia – 17 USD, paid in US dollars upon receipt of a passport with a visa.
If the child travels with one of the parents, it is necessary to provide a notarized permission to leave from the second parent.
Visas for CIS citizens
Citizens of the CIS countries to visit Colombia require a visa, which is issued at the consular department of the Embassy of Colombia in Moscow.
Required documents:
- international passport, the validity of which is not less than 3 months at the time of submission of documents;
- the presence in the passport of at least 3 blank pages;
- 3 color photographs 3×3 cm;
- questionnaire;
- certificate of employment on the letterhead of the organization indicating the position and salary;
- round trip airfare.
The Consular Section of the Colombian Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents and call the applicant for an interview. The term for issuing a visa is from 7 to 15 working days. The cost of a visa for citizens of the CIS countries is 40 USD.
An airport tax of USD 19 (only in foreign currency in cash) is charged for passengers whose stay in Colombia exceeds a period of 2 months. Passengers in transit who continue their journey on the same day and do not leave the international area of the airport are exempt from paying the fee. All international air tickets purchased in Colombia are subject to a tax of 15% (one-way tickets) or 7.5% (round trip).
